Support Engineer

We’re looking for a Support Engineer who genuinely enjoys helping people by diving into problems, finding patterns, and delivering solutions that make sense.

Who we’re looking for and why

Support at GREYCORTEX isn’t about forwarding bug reports. You’ll be the first point of contact for incoming issues – your job is to understand the root cause, replicate it if needed, and determine whether it’s a bug, a misunderstanding, or an opportunity for improvement. You’ll join Pavel and Lukáš, who currently handle support, and help us improve both our customer response and the product itself.

Your work will have real impact – the feedback you provide shapes the product, and the documentation you create helps both customers and teammates get oriented faster.

We are looking for a colleague for the position of

Support Engineer

Full-time position
Location: JIC, Brno-Medlánky, Czech Republic

What you’ll do

  • Investigate and replicate problems reported by customers or partners
  • Assist with configuration, deployment, and environment validation
  • Create clear bug reports, feature requests, and feedback summaries
  • Write and maintain documentation and internal knowledge base
  • Act as a technical counterpart to presale or engineering when needed

What we expect

  • Solid experience with Linux – ideally using it daily, knowing the file system structure and command line well
  • Basic understanding of network protocols (DNS, HTTP/S, DHCP, TCP/UDP)
  • Familiarity with databases and ability to write basic SQL queries
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to see connections
  • Clear and respectful communication – whether with colleagues or customers
  • A high degree of independence combined with openness to ask when unsure
Nice to have (but not required)
  • Experience with LDAP or Active Directory
  • Motivation to learn about cybersecurity – why Mendel exists and what problems it solves
  • Hands-on experience with platforms like HackTheBox or TryHackMe

What mindset works well here

  • You enjoy diving deep into problems instead of just trying a few things and giving up
  • You can work independently but aren’t afraid to say “I don’t know”
  • You want to be part of a team and contribute more than just code

What to expect in your first weeks

You’ll first get familiar with the product, common issues we solve, and how we communicate. Pavel will walk you through real-world scenarios and gradually introduce more responsibility and autonomy as you get comfortable.

What we offer

  • 5 weeks holiday + 4 sick days
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid model after onboarding (Brno-based role)
  • Annual bonus based on company performance
  • Support for professional development – courses, books, or conferences
  • Multisport card, meal allowance, company laptop and phone plan
  • English courses based on your needs
  • Team events (barbecues, board games, beer trips…)
  • Excellent coffee – and we mean it
What’s next?

Send us your CV or a link to your LinkedIn – and feel free to include a few words about yourself. The first round will be with Ira from HR, followed by an in-person interview in Brno with Pavel and Radek, who will introduce the role and team in more detail.

We look forward to hearing from you!
